Intermediate Web Developer (PHP)

We are seeking a talented programmer with strong knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, CSS, MYSQL, SQL, XML, PL/SQL and HTML to join our growing web development team. The successful candidate will have experience in developing web-based applications in PHP with MySQL databases. Specifically WordPress, Joomla and Drupal. Knowledge of XML and Perl is an asset.

Required Technical Skills:

  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • WordPress, Joomla & Drupal
  • HTML-XHTML, CSS, JavaScript

Will be an asset:

  • Knowledge of another programming language
  • Knowledge of Smarty templates or Savant2
  • Knowledge of XML and XSLT transformations
  • Knowledge of PEAR library
  • Knowledge of AJAX
  • Knowledge of Flash and ActionScript
  • Knowledge of Webservices, client / server
  • Knowledge of W3C Web standards

In addition to having several years experience developing in PHP, the candidate must also:

  • have a post-secondary education.
  • have minimum 2 years experience in designing, developing, testing and maintaining web-based application, Interactive, Database-driven websites
  • understand secure coding practices
  • expand knowledge base and skills in appropriate technologies
  • be able to work independently with minimal direction, be proactive and results-oriented, have good interpersonal skills
  • have experience developing, maintaining and enhancing MySQL databases
  • have extensive experience developing with CSS, Javascript, Ajax
  • be able to develop for cross-platform and cross-browser functionality
