Web Designer

This is a full time design focused position suitable for somebody with web design education or  2+ years of web design experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of graphic design, excellent HTML/CSS skills along with experience in Flash.

Required knowledge:

  • Ability to hand code HTML and CSS
  • Strong knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Familiarity with current web trends including CSS based layouts
  • Knowledge of JavaScript
  • PHP knowledge is an asset not a requirement
  • Experience with WordPress and Joomla templates is an asset not a requirement

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have online portfolio to showcase their knowledge and skills
  • Have strong time management skills and communications skills
  • Have an ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Be able to manage design critiques positively
  • Be a fast learner, passionate about web design and positive about change

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing original web design concepts based on provided briefing and guidelines
  • Conversion of Photoshop/Illustrator comps into clean, standards-based HTML
  • Creating and editing graphics for use in web pages
  • Development of dynamic database driven websites using PHP, Java Script, CSS
  • Maintains and updates existing websites on a regular basis
  • Ensuring cross-platform and/or cross browser compatibility
  • Communication with the project team throughout all stages of design and report to Senior Developer
