Junior Web Developer
About ABORG Computing:
ABORG Computing is an Ottawa-based web programming company that specializes in providing businesses with reliable web hosting and secure online shopping solutions. We are moving into new office space on Queensview Drive at the end of May and are currently seeking Junior Web Developers to assist us with the growing demand for design and maintenance of websites for small and medium sized companies.
Terms of Employment:
3 month contract (full time or part time positions available) with an
option for full time employment or on-going contract part-time position
This position is suitable for knowledgeable student.
Hour per week: 15-35
Required knowledge:
- Ability to hand code HTML and CSS
- Familiarity with current web trends including CSS based layouts
- Knowledge of JavaScript is an asset not a requirement
- PHP knowledge is an asset not a requirement
- Experience with WordPress templates is an asset not a requirement
- Basic MySQL knowledge
- Good understanding of search engine optimization techniques
- Experience with managing Google AdWords campaigns is an asset not
a requirement
The ideal candidate will:
- have online portfolio to showcase their knowledge and skills
- have strong time management skills and communications skills
- show understanding of best search engine optimization techniques
- have an ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- be able to manage design critiques positively
- be fast learner, passionate about web design and positive
about change
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the maintenance and updates of HTML/CSS websites
- Assist in the conversion of Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator comps
into clean, standards-based HTML
- Develop original web design concepts based on provided briefing
and guidelines
- Creating and editing graphics for use in web pages
- Maintaining our client's websites (by creating new or
updating current web pages)
- Ensuring cross-platform and/or cross browser compatibility
- Communicates with the project team throughout all stages of
design and report to Senior Developer
